Produced in India, this double headed drum would be beaten with hands, fingertips and wrists. It’s braced with leather thongs and tensioned by cylindrical pieces of wood. The body is patterned by incised rings. These grooves help in preventing cracks by reducing tension in the wood, making the drum more durable over time.
